Photography insurance is often seen as a pain, but not half as painful as loosing hundreds, or even thousands of pounds due to not taking out a policy. Here we’ve put together a couple of examples to make you think twice when you are thinking about skipping out on your insurance.

Wedding photographer falls into fountain – Lots of people have no doubt heard about this disaster but we’ll give a quick recap. Professional photographer commissioned for a wedding. Photographer frames the perfect shot whilst walking backwards with camera. Photographer falls backward into fountain, camera in tow.  Hope he had insurance!

Photographer loses memory card in wilderness – This is a more common one than people would imagine. We often hear about photographers dropping cameras off high places into rivers below or losing them in the wilderness when travelling. Amazingly, at the start of this year it was reported that a camera had been found in Colorado six years after it had been dropped down a steep hill.  Photos were retrieved from the memory card and it was discovered they had been taken in 2006!

Photographer can’t make it to shoot – It’s not uncommon for photographers to be stuck on a motorway following a road accident or as a result of very bad traffic and not be able to make it to a job.  Here many photography insurance policies will be able to protect against issues arising as a result.

There’s just a couple for you to think about. If you have any more questions (because we have plenty more stories to tell!) please feel free to give us a call on 0844 811 8056 and we’ll be happy to talk our policies through with you.
