Another case of a ‘wedding fail’ going viral happened at the end of last week, thanks to the power of YouTube. A groom was given a shock as a remote control helicopter with a camera attached to it flew into his face. Hats off to the photographer for attempting something different and trying to capture the wedding from a different perspective; sadly it didn’t turn out so well.

Luckily for the professional photographer, the couple had a sense of humour and didn’t sue – something which sadly seems to be common practice these days. The harsh reality is that the story sends out a warning to all professional photographers and videographers.  If the situation hadn’t turned out so well, the photographer could well have been faced with a number of claims made against him, namely public liability, if the groom had been injured, and professional indemnity should injuries had spoilt the wedding photos or cancelled the event.
