We’re backing a campaign highlighted by Darren Hector, a brilliant wildlife photographer (check his work out), to help innocent photographers who find themselves in trouble over the Terrorism Act.

Professional and amateur photographers are affected by S44 of the Terrorism Act which is all too often being used by the Police to prevent photographers doing their job.

The current application of S44 has already been ruled illegal by the European Court of Human rights but the British Government is dithering over it and is still intent on appealing the decision. We’re urging the Government to abandon its appeal.

Darren does a good job of explaining the S44 issue on the excellent PhotoLegal blog along with some recent examples of professional photographers who have sufffered. Have a read and see where you stand on the issue.
