Controversy was sparked last week after a picture of a sports star, taken on an iPhone using the Instagram app, was featured on the front page of the New York Times. Critics argued that this would change today’s professional photography industry entirely.

Some argued it would bring new talent to the fore by allowing people who wouldn’t usually engage in photography to experiment through the platform. Others see the popular application as a threat.

Here at InFocus, we believe that traditional, high quality photography will never be extinct, regardless of the introduction of new technologies and applications.

What do you think? We would love to hear your thoughts on the issue…
