We recently came across a blog post with the amazing story of a photographer who bought a French camera in an antique store and found that it contained incredible photographs that had been taken decades ago.  Whilst painstakingly cleaning the camera, the photographer was shocked to find  it contained fully developed images .  After scanning them, he found that they dated from the First World War and had incredibly remained intact.  You can read the full story here: http://thephotopalace.blogspot.com.br/2013/01/french-wwi-images-found-still-in-camera.html

We’re often amazed at what can be recovered on behalf of the professional photographers we work with, when their equipment has been damaged in a fire or a flood.  We’ve seen incidents of equipment being dropped into the sea and the photographer thinks their images have been lost forever but experts have been able to recover all the photographs.  It’s worth seeing if your photography insurance policy covers you for forensic recovery of images should the worst happen and your equipment gets damaged.  Even when you think there is no hope, you’d be surprised at what can be restored.  If your insurance policy is up for renewal, get in touch with the InFocus Insurance team to get a photographers insurance quote.
