Oh dear – another case of wedding photography gone wrong. Last week, the press covered a story of a newlywed couple who plan to sue their wedding photographer for capturing their big day in a rather unflattering light. In the collection, one of the photos shows the couple with their heads cut off, while others are blurry and taken from uncomplimentary angles with poor backdrops.

It is arguable that there could well be more to this story – hiring a reputable and not ‘cheap as chips’ professional photographer is essential if you want a great selection of pictures from your big day. However, the issue is something that all wedding photographers need to consider. As the ‘wedding season’ approaches, there is no doubt that we will see a number of these cases in coming months.

Although these images are clearly unsatisfactory, we’ve seen other cases, where images are perfectly acceptable, yet the bride just doesn’t like the way she looks.  In this case, professional wedding photographers can take steps to protect themselves against this type of crisis. As part of our policies we can offer both Crisis Containment cover and Professional Indemnity to ensure you don’t get into any sticky situations and we’ll advise you if your costs or the quality of your images are ever disputed.  For a free photographers insurance quote call us today on 0844 811 8056.
